After 16 successful editions, these days have continued thanks to the participation of a dozen local restaurants that offer a menu during a month. A menu in which the main dish is suckling lamb roasted in a wood-fired oven, a product which, together with wine from the Ribera del Duero certificate of origin, are the fundamental pillars on which the town’s gastronomic offer is based.
The recipe contains a great historical legacy and the restaurants, the main protagonists, have internalised each of the suckling lamb steps over the years for the enjoyment of locals and visitors alike.
In order to support this great product, which provides Aranda with a great gastronomic identity, in October 2021 the brand “Lechazo asado de Aranda de Duero” was created, a distinction that reflects how the raw material, the way it is prepared and its presentation to the diner should be.
The products chosen must always be endorsed by a quality brand: IGP for suckling lamb, as well as lettuce (Lechuga de Medina) and bread (Torta de Aranda).
During the days, parallel activities are also organised, such as “dulzaina” and “tamboril” performances, popular tastings, street theatre performances, attendance at fairs and presentations in different Spanish towns and cities.
These days are a commitment to the excellent quality of its raw materials and an exaltation of the traditional culinary techniques handed down from generation to generation to the present day, attracting a large number of visitors from all over Spain.
